TrailEagle Co. will be winding down operations at the end of this year.
This decision comes after a great deal of reflection, and marks the conclusion of a chapter that has meant so much to those who contributed, supported, and believed in this mission.
As we prepare to close operations, we want to share the story, the gratitude, and the significance of what this journey has been.
From an Idea to a Real Venture
TrailEagle Co. began with a simple spark., the belief that backpacks could be redesigned to better serve hikers, adventurers, and everyday explorers.
What started as sketches, ideas, and late-night planning sessions evolved into prototypes, manufacturing milestones, and finally into a real product placed in the hands of real people.
Turning that idea into something tangible was an unforgettable experience. It was a journey filled with creativity, problem-solving, resilience, and countless moments of growth.
A Community That Made It Possible
We’re proud of what we built, but even more grateful for the people and organizations who helped bring it to life.
Support from the MSU Burgess Institute, our Kickstarter backers, the Lansing SmartZone, Innovate Marquette/NMU, Scouting America, Startup Grind Lansing, and partners across the Michigan entrepreneurial ecosystem gave TrailEagle Co. the opportunity to grow far beyond an idea on paper.
Advisors played a crucial role as well, offering guidance, perspective, and encouragement throughout every stage of the company’s development. Their insight helped shape our direction, refine our decisions, and deepen our impact.
What we achieved together was much larger than any one person.
Experiences That Shaped Us
As this company grew, so did the opportunities. We had the privilege to:
showcase our work across Michigan
present on stages and at competitions
travel across the country and internationally
connect with founders, leaders, and communities
keynote to more than 300 members of the Scouting community
These moments weren’t just events, they were reminders of the passion and potential behind TrailEagle Co.
They’re memories that will stay with us long after operations wind down.
Why We’re Closing
Closing a company is never an easy decision.
But after careful consideration, it became clear that this chapter has run its course.
This isn’t the result of one moment, but the natural conclusion of a journey that accomplished what it set out to do: to build something real, meaningful, and community-driven, and to inspire the people behind it to grow into their next stages.
We are grateful for everything TrailEagle Co. has contributed, to our customers, our partners, the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and to the personal and professional development of those involved.
Sincere Gratitude
To everyone who supported us, thank you.
To our customers who believed in the product.
To our backers who took a risk early on.
To our ecosystem partners who offered resources, visibility, and trust.
To our advisors who gave their time and insight.
To the communities who welcomed us on stages, in workshops, and at events.
Your support shaped the entire experience.Your belief made TrailEagle Co. possible.
Looking Ahead
This is the closing of one trail, but not the end of the journey.
TrailEagle Co. leaves behind a legacy of creativity, resilience, and community.
The lessons learned, relationships built, and experiences gained will carry forward into everything that comes next.
To everyone who walked a piece of this trail with us, thank you.
